Meetings

Workshops, conferences and meetings organized by S.O.S. group members.

SAS2020

This was the fifth edition of the South American Supernovae meeting held on 2020 March 10-12 at the La Plata Observatory. This year the S.O.S. was the host group again after having hosted the SAS2016 also in La Plata. This series of meetings aims at promoting the continued collaborations between supernova researchers based in South America. It has a workshop format with a mix of oral presentations and discussion and work panels. We have also actively participated in organizing previous SAS versions held in Chile.

Massive Stars and Supernovae, Bariloche 2018

We organized an international conference to get together researchers in the fields of massive stars and supernovae. The conference was held in Bariloche, Argentina on 2018 November 5-9, and it was dedicated to our professor and mentor Nidia Morrell, a world expert in observations of both types of objects. We had over 130 participants that joined from around the world.

Vínculos entre supernovas y sus remanentes en Argentina

This was a workshop held in La Plata to gather experts in the areas of supernovae and their remnants. The goal of the workshop was to identify and promote collaboration opportunities for two seemingly separate communities in Argentina. We had over 40 participants that joined at the La Plata Observatory on 2016 November 9-11.
