These are the research projects that S.O.S. members have been carrying out in the recent years.

Photometric followup of supernovae

We have launched a pilot program to produce SN light curves using the 60cm HSH telescope in CASLEO. The full program will be started in 2020B.

Nebular spectra of supernovae

We use Gemini to obtain late-time (one year old) spectroscopy of nearby SN events. These observations serve to study the properties of SN progenitors.

Direct identification of supernova progenitors

We use the Hubble Space Telescope to pinpoint the possible progenitor stars or systems of nearby supernovae. This is a very powerful means for understanding stellar evolution prior to a SN explosion.
